ATEA – Creation of Tunisian Evaluation and Accreditation Agency
Strategic Design Support for the Creation of the Tunisian Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ATEA) under the EMORI Programme
The EMORI programme supported the establishment of a new national Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ATEA) to strengthen quality assurance in Tunisian higher education and research. It contributed to the legal and institutional design of the agency, defined its governance and mandate, and aligned its frameworks with international and European quality assurance principles. The project also developed accreditation standards for programmes and institutions, and supported the design of a national QA strategic framework clarifying roles, processes, and links with recognition, accreditation, funding, and qualifications frameworks.
Learning Avenue's Role
Learning Avenue provided strategic design and technical assistance to the EMORI consortium, advised on ATEA’s governance and mandate, contributed to the development of accreditation standards and national QA policy, and supported the reform of higher education and research quality assurance at national level.
