Evaluation of UNESCO Centres

We provide specialized institutional evaluations or feasibility studies for UNESCO Category 1 and 2 centres, assessing their strategic alignment, operational performance and contributions to global development agendas.

Our Role

Learning Avenue has developed recognized expertise in the evaluation and strategic assessment of UNESCO Category 1 and Category 2 Centres and Institutes across multiple regions and thematic sectors.

To date, the firm has conducted evaluations, strategic reviews, and feasibility studies for six UNESCO Centres and Institutes, covering a diverse range of thematic areas and geographic contexts. Learning Avenue supports UNESCO in conducting independent evaluations, strategic reviews, and feasibility studies assessing the relevance, effectiveness, governance, partnerships, sustainability, and global contribution of these centres and institutes. Our work combines institutional analysis, stakeholder consultations, benchmarking against UNESCO frameworks, field missions, and evaluation methodologies aligned with UNEG and OECD-DAC standards. We assess centres operating in areas such as education, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, culture, research, rural education, peacebuilding, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

Our evaluations are designed not only to support accountability and renewal decisions, but also to strengthen institutional positioning, international visibility, governance systems, and long-term strategic impact.
